praṇamya vajrasattvasya caraṇāmbhoruhadvayam|

tattvaratnāvalīṃ brūmaḥ śaraccandrāmaladyuteḥ|| (1)


sadāmnāyaparibhraṣṭatamovṛtadṛśām iyam|

tattvaratnāvalī samyak puṃsāṃ tattvaprakāśinī|| (2)

tatra trīni yānāni, śrāvakayānaṃ pratyekabuddhayānaṃ mahāyānaṃ

ceti| sthitayaś catasraḥ, vaibhāṣika-sautrāntika-yogācāra mādhyamika-

bhedena| tatra vaibhāṣikasthityā śrāvakayānaṃ pratyekabuddhayānaṃ

ca vyākhyāyate| mahāyānaṃ ca dvividhaṃ, pāramitānayo mantranayaś

ceti| tatra ca pāramitānayaḥ sautrāntika-yogācāra-mādhyamika-sthityā

vyākhyāyate| man-tranayas tu yogācāra-mādhyamika-sthityā vyākhyā-

yate| yogācāraś ca dvi-vidhaḥ, sākāra-nirākāra-bhedena| evaṃ mādhy-

amiko'pi māyopamādva-yavādi-sarvadharmāpratiṣṭhānavādi bhedāt dvi-

vidhaḥ|


(śrāvakayānaṃ)

tatra śrāvakaḥ trividhaḥ, mṛdumadhyādhimātrabhedāt| atra ca mṛdu-

madhyau pāścātyavaibhāṣikau, adhimātras tu kāśmīravaibhāṣikaḥ|

I. tatra mṛduśrāvakasya vicāraḥ| nīlapītādibāhyārthāṅgīkārapūrvakaṃ

pudgalasya nityānityatvaviyuktim āheti vivṛtiḥ| tad uktam-

asti khalv iti nīlādi jagad iti jaḍīyase|

bhāvagrahagrahāveśagambhīranayabhīrave|| (3)

asti pudgalo- "bhāravāho ṇa ṇiccaṃ bhaṇāmi ṇāṇiccam bhaṇāmī" ti, pu-

dgalaś ca rāgavān saṃsaratīti rāgaprahāṇāyāśudhā bhāvanā dhyānam|

aśubhā bhāvanā tu śarīrasya biṇ-mūtra-śukra-śoṇita-ślesmāntāntra-siṃhā-

naka-cikkiṇa-klomaka-plīhā-yakṛt-prabhṛti-samudāyarūpatānirūpaṇam|

tad uktam-


imaṃ carmapuṭaṃ tāvat svabuddhau ca pṛthakkuru|

asthipañjarato māṃsaṃ prajñāśastreṇa mocaya|| (4)


asthīny api pṛthakkṛtvā paśya majjānam antataḥ|

kim atra sāram astīti svayam eva vicāraya|| (5)


iti| pudgalasya nityatvadarśanapūrvārohaḥ samādhimalam| yāvaj jīvaṃ

buddhaṃ dharmaṃ saṃghaṃ śaraṇaṃ gacchāmi, kiṃ punar vandyau su-

gatau'tha buddhau, yāvat kuśalamūlaṃ tam ekam ātmānaṃ damayiṣyāmy

eka atmānaṃ śamayiṣyāmy ekam ātamānaṃ parinirvāpayi- ṣyāmīti

dṛṣṭiḥ|


II. madhyasyā dṛṣṭivivṛtiḥ pūrvavat| kiñcit parārtharucir asau, ānāpā-

nasamādhinā nityānityatvaviyuktapudgaladarśanaṃ dhyānam| kumbha-

kena niśceṣṭhībhāvaḥ samādhimalaṃ jāḍyāvāhakatvāt|


III. śrāvaka-adhimātrasya bāhyārthāṅgīkāriṇaḥ śarīrasya nairātmya-

tāvyavasthāpanaṃ vivṛtiḥ| caturāryasatyaparijñāne pudgalasya śūnyatā-

darśanaṃ dhyānaṃ| atra ca duḥkhaṃ pañcaskandhasvarūpaṃ jñātavyaṃ|

samudayo vikalpaḥ prahātavyaḥ, nirodho vipaśyanā sākṣātkartavyaḥ,

mārgaḥ śūnyatā bhāvayitavyeti, śūnyatāyāḥ sadāśivarūpatādhyāropo dhyā-

namalam| dṛṣṭau punar asya parārthakāritāviśeṣaḥ|


IV. atra ca mṛduśrāvako niyatagotratvād akāruṇikatvāt śākyabuddha

evety eke| anye tu-

sarve buddhā bhaviṣyanti nābhavyo bhuvi vidyate|

na kartavyo'vasādo'smāt samyaksambodhisādhane|| (6)


iti sattvānāṃ mṛduśrāvako'pi samyaksambuddho bhaviṣyatīti|

niyatagotraṃ tu kiñcit buddham apekṣata iti manyate| madhyas tu bhāvi-

pratyekabuddhaḥ| adhimātras tu catuḥkalpāsaṃkhyeyābhinirvartyabu-

ddha iti|


(pratyekabuddhayānaṃ)


I. pratyekabuddhayānasya vivṛtir adhimātraśrāvakasyaiva| ayaṃ ca pratipannapudgalaśūnyācintyatālakṣaṇānācāryasvayambhūjñānavipaśyanā-

śamathaḥ| tatra indriyān nirodho vipaśyanā pudgalasyānupalabdhiḥ

kāyavākcetasāṃ saṃyamaḥ śamathaḥ| idam asya dhyānam| atrāsannani-

drasya cetasaḥ sukhāvasthādhyānam, cetasaḥ suṣuptāvasthādhyānaṃ ca

samādhimalam| tatra pūrvasmin bhāskaramatānupraveśaḥ| tad uktam-


anāgatāyāṃ nidrāyāṃ pranaṣṭe bāhyagocare|

yā bhaven manaso'vasthā bhāvayet tāṃ prayatnataḥ|| (7)


iti| aparasmin tu vaiśeṣikamatānupraveśaḥ| tad āhuḥ nāgārjunapādāḥ-

ajānānaṃ hi prajñānaṃ nidrādṛṣṭāntasādhitam|

indriyoparataṃ yadvaj jñānaṃ vaiśeṣikaṃ matam|| (8)


bhagavataḥ pravacanam api-

varaṃ jetavane ramye śṛgālatvaṃ vrajāmy aham|

na tu vaiśeṣikaṃ mokṣaṃ gotvam āgantum arhati|| (9)


iti| dṛṣṭir api pūrvavat| ayam api catuḥkalpāsaṃkhyeyābhinirvartyabu-

ddhabhāvaḥ|


II. karuṇā cānayoḥ śrāvakapratyekabuddhayoḥ sttvāvalambanā, duḥ-

khaduḥkhatā-vipariṇāmaduḥkhatābhyām ahanyahani sattvān ālambya yā

karuṇotpadyate sā sattvāvalambanā| śrāvakasya deśanā vācakī pratyekabu-

ddhasya tu kāyikī| tad uktam-

sambuddhānām anutpāde śrāvakānāṃ punaḥ kṣaye|

jñānaṃ pratyekabuddhānām asaṃsargāt pravartate|| (10)

(pāramitānayaḥ)


I. idānīṃ pāramitānayayogina ucyante| tatra mṛduḥ sautrāntikaḥ, asya

khalu paramāṇusañcayarupo'rthaḥ sākārajñānajanakaḥ| tasya ceyam eva

pratyavekṣaṇā yad uta sākārajñānajanakatvaṃ nāma| tad āhuḥ-


bhinnakālaṃ kathaṃ grāhyam iti ced grāhyatāṃ viduḥ|

hetutvam eva yuktijñā jñānākārārpaṇakṣamam|| (11)


iti vivṛtiḥ| viṣayebhayḥ parāvṛttendriyagrāmasyācintyatā dhayānam| tad

uktam abhyāsasyeyaṃ kalanā yat kālaḥ saṃkhyā kriyāyāḥ| tasmāt parica-

yaḥ kartavyaḥ| paricayaś ca-


cittaṃ niścitya bodhena abhyāsaṃ kurute yadā|

tadā cittaṃ na paśyāmi kva gataṃ sthitaṃ bhavet|| (12)


bhāvayed gṛhibhūte'pi ........ ṣilabdhākṣaṇam (?)

vajraparyaṅkam ādhāya nāsāgre cañcalaṃ manaḥ|| (13)


malam asya samādheḥ pūrvavat| tritayānupalabdhyā prajñāpāramitāsva-

bhāvena pañcapāramitācaraṇaṃ phalavaimukhyena sattvārthapariṇāmanā

tad dṛṣṭir iti|


II. madhyo yogācāraḥ| tatra sākārāravijñānavādī "ṣaṭkena yugapad yo-

gāt paramāṇoḥ ṣaḍaṅgate" ty ādinā nyāyena paramāṇūnām apy anupapat-

teḥ| cittamātram evedaṃ cittākāradhāri grāhyagrāhakabhāvavinirmuktaṃ

prakāśaṃ prakāśata iti pratipannavān| tad uktaṃ cittamātraṃ bho jina-

putrā ! yad uta traidhātukam iti| tathā cāhuḥ kīrtipādāḥ-


dhiyo nīlādirūpatve bāhyo'rthaḥ kiṃnibandhanaḥ|

dhiyo'nīlādirūpatve bāhyo'rthaṃ kiṃnibandhanaḥ|| (14)

iti| anyatrāpy uktam-

na citteṣu bharibhūtā indriyārthāḥ svabhāvataḥ|

rūpādipratibhāsena cittam eva hi bhāsate|| (15)


tasmāt cittam eva citrākāraṃ paraṃ nirapekṣaprakāśyaṃ prakāśata iti

sākāravijñānavādiyogācārasya vivṛtiḥ|


nirākāravādiyogācaras tu cittam eva idam anākārasvasamvedanarūpaṃ

iti manyate| tad uktam-


bhāhye na vidyate hy artho yathā bālair vikalpyate|

vāsanāluṭhitaṃ cittam arthabhāsaṃ pravartate|| (16)


yāvad ābhāsate yac ca tan māyaiva ca bhāsate|

tattvato hi nirābhāsaḥ śuddhānantanabhonibhaḥ|| (17)


niṣprapañco nirābhāso dharmakāyo mahāmuneḥ|

rūpakāyau tadudbhūtau pṛṣṭhe māyaiva tiṣṭhate|| (18)


iti vivṛtiḥ|

vidhūtasakalavikalpasaccittādvaitasākṣātkaraṇaṃ dhyānaṃ sākāravādi-

naḥ| tad uktam-


yatra yatra mano yāti jñeye tatraiva yojayet|

calitvā yāsyate kutra sarvam eva hi tanmayam|| (19)

iti| śātādvayācintyaniṣprapañcanirābhāsacittasākṣātkaraṇaṃ dhyānaṃ

nirākāravādinaḥ| tathā ca-


rūpam asya mataṃ svacchaṃ nirākāraṃ nirañjanam|

śakyaṃ tena na hi jñātum abuddhena kadācana|| (20)


vijñaptimātram evadam ity api hy upalambhataḥ|

sthāpayann agrataḥ kiñcit tanmātre nāvatiṣṭhate||(21)


yadā tv ālambanaṃ jñānaṃ naivopalabhate tadā|

sthitaṃ vijñānamātratve grāhyābhāve tad agrahāt|| (22)


paramārthasannityasākāravijñānasamādhau bhagavataḥ saṃsthitavedānta-

vādimatānupraveśaḥ| sa hi paramārthasannityaṃ svacid rūpabrahmābhi-

nnapariṇāmarūpaṃ jagad icchati| tathā coktam-


yad yad vai dṛśyate kiñcit tat tat brahmeti kalpayet|

tato nānyagataṃ cittaṃ brahmaṇy evāvatiṣṭhate|| (23)


iti samāhimalaṃ sākāravādinaḥ|

evaṃ nirākāravādināpi nityanirābhāsaniṣprapañcasvasamvedanavijñāna-

bhāvanāyāṃ bhāskaramatasthitavedāntavādimatānupraveśaprasaṅgaḥ| so

'pi vyapagatasakalanāmarūpaprapañcopaplavaviśuddhaprakāśānandagha-

nanityabrahmābhyupagacchati|


bodhāmbhodhau mayi svacchaṃ tac chāyam viśvabuddhayaḥ|

udito vā pralīno vā na vikalpāya kalpate|| (24)


iti nirākāravādinaḥ samādhimalam| dṛṣṭir anayoḥ pūrvavat|


III. adhimātro mādhyamikaḥ| tatra māyopamādvayavādinaḥ vivṛtiḥ-

na san nāsan na sadasan na cāpy anubhayātmakam|

catuṣkoṭivinirmuktaṃ tattvaṃ mādhyamikā viduḥ|| (25)


asya cāyam arthaḥ| na sad bādhāyogāt, asad api na cābhāsanavaśāt, tathā

doṣād dvandvāt ubhayam api na, nāpy anubhayaṃ tathā bodhābhāvād iti|

api ca pūrvetaraparāmarśāt-

mūrtiś citre yathāvastuśakti- - skavāsaṅgaḥ (?)! (26)


sa hi māyopamādevayeti vivṛtiḥ| asyaiva ca māyopamādvayasya bhāvanā

dhyānam| yas tatrocchedābhiniveśas tad dhyānamalam| māyopamādva-

yādhimokṣataḥ ṣaṭpāramitāparipūriṇī dṛṣṭiḥ| sarvadharmāpratiṣṭhānavādi-

nāṃ tv ayaṃ vicāraḥ-


na matam śāśvataṃ viśvaṃ na cocchedisamīhitam|

śāśvatocchedino yugmāṃ nānubhayaṃ vinobhayam|| (27)

savasminn apraṭiṣṭhāne vastutattvaṃ vidur buddhāḥ|

athaiṣā kalpanā naiva yac cid vetti na cittatām|| (28)

yo vit sarvasamāropaḥ sa sarvaḥ sarvathā na hi|

madhyamārtho nirāropas tatrāpohavidhī kutaḥ|| (29)

anābhogaṃ hi yad jñānaṃ tac cāintyaṃ pracakṣate|

sañcinti yad acintyaṃ vai tad acintyaṃ bhaven na hi|| (30)

yenājātaṃ jagad buddhaṃ buddhiḥ śuddhaiva bodhataḥ|

nijaṃ tasya jagat satyam anābhogena dhīmataḥ|| (31)


tad uktam-

sarvāropavinirmukte svatas tattve cakāsati|

śūnyatādyabhidhānais tu tatrāropanirākriyā|| (32)


asya ca vicārāya āyātasya arthasya anāroparūpasya anabhiniveśavihāreṇa

sākṣātkriyā dhyānaṃ| sarvārthocchedo jaḍībhāvaḥ samādhimalam| anāro-

peṇa ṣaṭpāramitāparipūraṇaṃ dṛṣṭiḥ|


IV. atra mṛdumadhyayor dharmāvalambanā karuṇā| dharmāvalam-

banā cānityatāvyasanasampātinaḥ sarvadharmān ālambya utpadyate yā

sā boddhavyā| abhimātrasya ca ālambananiḥsvabhāvā manaskāradharmā-

dhigamānālambanā karuṇā| kāyatrayavyavasthā cāsya maitreyanāthair

uktā| tathā ca-


karoti yena citrāṇi hitāni jagataḥ samam|

ā bhavāt so'nupacchannaḥ kāyo nairmāṇiko muneḥ|| (33)


dvātriṃśallakṣaṇāśītivyañjanātmā muner ayam|

sāmbhogiko mataḥ kāyo mahāyānopabhogataḥ|| (34)


sarvākārāṃ viśuddhiṃ ye dharmāḥ prāptā nirāsravāḥ|

svābhāviko muneḥ kāyas teṣāṃ prakṛtilakṣaṇaḥ|| (35)


iti| 


(mantranayaḥ)


mantranayas tu asmābhir ihātigambhīratvād gambhīranayādhimuktika-

puruṣaviṣayatvāt caturmudrādisādhanaprakāśanavistaratvāc ca na vyāk-

riyate| tathā ca-

ekārthatve'py asaṃmohāt bahūpāyād aduṣkarāt|

tīkṣṇendriyādhikārāc ca mantraśāstraṃ viśiṣyate|| (36)


kṛtaś cāsmābhir atra sekanirṇayo nāma granthaḥ|


(avasānaṃ)


nanu yadi mahāyānanirṇīta evārthaḥ paramārtho'sti atra kim arthaṃ tarhi

śrāvakapratyekabuddhayāne bhagavān deśitavān,  tan na , mahāyānaprāpya-

prāpanārtham eva śrāvakapratyekabuddhayānasopānayor nirmāṇāt| tad

uktam-


ādhikarmikasattvasya paramārthāvatāraṇe|

upāyas tv ayaṃ sambuddhaiḥ sopānam iva nirmitaḥ|| (37)


saddharmapuṇḍarīke'py uktam-

ekaṃ tu yānaṃ hi nayaś ca eka ekā ciyaṃ deśana nāyakānāṃ|

upāyakauśalya mamaivarūpaṃ yat trīṇi yānāny upadarśayāmi|| (38)


nāgārjunapādair apy uktam-

dharmadhātor asaṃbhedād dhyānabhedo'sti na prabho|

yānatritayam ākhyātaṃ tvayā sattvāvatārataḥ|| (39)


anyatrāpy uktam-

muktis tu śūnyatādṛṣṭis tadarthāśeṣabhāvaṇā| (40)


iti| idaṃ ca yānatritayaprakāśanaṃ manyamānaśūnyatā saiva bhagavato

'vagantavyaḥ| tathāhi-


nodāhṛtaṃ tvayā kiñcid ekam apy akṣaraṃ vibho|

kṛtsnaś ca vaineyajano dharmavarṣanatarpitaḥ|| (41)


cintāmaṇir ivākampyaḥ sarvasaṅkalpavāyubhiḥ|

tathāpi sarvasattvānām aśeṣāśāprapūrakaḥ|| (42)


cakrabhramaṇayogena nirvikalpe'pi tāyinaḥ|

sambhāro vedhasāmarthyāt deśanā sampravartate|| (43)


yānānāṃ nāsti vai niṣṭhā yāvac cittaṃ pravartate|

parāvṛtte tu vai citte na yānaṃ nāpi yāyinaḥ|| (44)


saddharmaratnaghaṭikā vāg hy atra grathitāmalā|

hṛdaye kriyatāṃ dhīrās tattvaratnāvalī mude|| (45)


saṃgrahe tu priyatvena vistaradveṣiṇā mayā|

bhūrir anuttame tasmin kṣantavyo vistarapriyaḥ|| (46)


vidhāya bhavyārthanāyaprayatnād imaṃ mayā grantham anuttarā-

rtham|

ālambhi yat puṇyam anena lokas tathāgatatvaṃ labhatām alabhyam|| (47)


tattvaratnāvalī samāptā|

kṛtir iyaṃ paṇḍitāvadhūtādvayavajrapādānām||
